I could have labeled this section “how to hunt for metaphors.” Arguably, that’s a punchier, more attention-grabbing phrase that suggests that seeking metaphors is exciting (accurately, in my mind!) and maybe dangerous (only the case in the sense that you may never be able stop seeing then once you start). But I didn’t, because “hunting” suggests that the goal of the process is capture, domination, maybe even death. That’s not what I want to say!
